BAK is a lively group of up-and-coming young musicians from Helsinki. Predominantly monks of the modern jazz school, they also incorporate themes of free-jazz and avant-garde into their sound.

BAK’s music draws its momentum and appeal from a contrast between an energetic rhythm section interwoven with flowing saxophone-melodies. Custom instruments built by Kolanen himself adds a layer of dark, pulsating patchwork of sounds that guarantee pleasure for your usual audience and aural aficionados alike.
