Pianist/composer Jex Saarelaht (b. 1958, Melbourne, Australia, of Estonian parents), has performed and/or recorded with an astounding A to Z of Australian and international musicians; from Gil Askey, Renée Geyer, Vince Jones, John Butler and Jonathan Zwartz, to Sheila Jordan, Steve Lacy, Eddie Henderson, Vincent Herring, and many others.
A leader of his own trio since 1992, he relishes an approach combining sensitive and robust interaction, and looks forward to collaborating with two of Estonia’s finest improvising musicians, Martin-Eero Kõressaar and Mihhail Nikitin.
