Kaisa Mäensivu is one of the big future names of Finnish jazz. The upright bassist moved to New York to pursue her career in music in 2015 and finished her Master's degree at the highly acclaimed Manhattan School of Music in 2017. She performs with a variety of groups in Finland and abroad, Kaisa’s Machine being her main project as a leader. The band released it’s debut album In the Key of K in 2017, introducing Kaisa’s mature and original vision of modern jazz in the form of her own compositions. Kaisa’s Machine performs actively in Finland and abroad as well, including the legendary Ronnie Scott’s in London and the Kitano Jazz Club in New York. The energetic quartet has been praised about the seamless musical communication between the members of the band - all on top of their field.
